A pink bakery and cafe in West End you'll be wanting to visit
Looking on the pink side of life? Superthing is your thing! Superthing, the new bakery and “croissanterie” located at 215 Montague Road, in Brisbane's West End. Brought to you by Ania Kutek and Eddy Tice, the people behind popular NYC Bagel Deli. Despite opening in the midst of the pandemic, locals and foodies alike have flocked to this place.
The space is an attention grabbing clean aesthetic. Featuring pink walls, pink leather booths, even the ceiling and exposed air conditioning are all pink.
Once you've managed to avert your gaze from all things pink, your eyes will be drawn to the Rolling Room, where you'll be able to watch where the magic happens, as pastries get flattened out and ready to be cut and rolled into shape.
The baked goods range from, of course, the traditional croissants, to the tiramisu twice-baked croissants, béchamel cheese and ham croissants, but also almond Danishes, custard cruffins, organic sourdough, as well as cookies. The treats are perfectly paired and washed down with Padre coffee or a selection of cold drinks and smoothies.
It doesn't stop there though. There is a cafe menu offering gluten free and vegetarian options, from the Grain Salad, Reuben Sandwiches, Cheeseburger, Pasta, Bagels, Beef cheek truffled cream polenta, and a soup of the day. ' Using locally sourced ingredients, everything is baked fresh and cooked on site daily and available for takeaway or dine-in.
