Welcome to Melrose. A Bali inspired rooftop restaurant and bar for escaping the ordinary
Melrose, the Venzin Group’s latest venture at the river end of Bulimba’s Oxford Street, is one of Brisbane’s hottest new openings of 2021 and comes right after the success of popular Darvella patisserie which opened at the end of 2020.

Sitting above Darvella, Melrose was an idea born out of Giorgina Venzin and partner Chris Hollingsworth’s travels to Bali, helping us regular diners escape the ordinary, through its cuisine and ambience at a time when overseas travel seems far out of reach.
The key to Melrose is head chef Arte Assavakavinvong, (who was at renowed Melbourne restaurant Longrain) before making the move to Brisbane’s sunnier pastures. Arte has created a rich menu that showcases classic Thai and Indonesian flavours made from fresh Australian produce. Think share plates like grilled market fish wrapped in banana leaf, or Turmeric Curry, Crispy pork belly, plus much more.
Whilst its only one flight of stairs, Melrose’s retractable roof and open air vibes, along with the chic Balinese-inspired decor, will have you getting ready for sunset and cocktail hour. Which isn’t hard, as the beverage menu is every bit as impressive as the food with its tropical signature cocktails and an extensive wine list.
